For many, the toughest leadership test is now looming: how to bring a business back in an environment where a vaccine has yet to be found and economies are slowly starting to reopen. Four short months ago, we didn’t know what the future had in store for us. Slowly, but surely, life is beginning to feel a little more normal. We’re going out more, able to meet in larger groups, and many of you are beginning the return to work plans. During crisis, it makes sense for an organization to focus on shorter term work plans particularly when conditions change daily. Leaders should assess when the time is right to move from shorter term work strategies to longer term strategic direction again. Is the long-term strategic direction still relevant? If not, what is? This reorientation to your future state could require revisions to work arrangements, team composition, product and services that your market now requires, and pricing and revenue targets to name a few.
The important thing is that you’re setting in place the elements that will empower your organization to thrive and maintain its competitive advantage!
