Six years ago, I decided that I needed a change from my fast-paced career in Winnipeg and needed something that allowed me the flexibility to raise my two little boys. It was one of my toughest decisions I ever had to make, but I decided to resign and launch my own consulting company. My boys were quite small at the time, so I started slowly. I always knew there was such a need for these types of services, especially in rural Manitoba and over the years, my company has grown into an incredible team of people. We all have the same vision that I have for my clients and that is so important to me. I built my team slowly and effectively to ensure we all bring different skills, knowledge and experience to the table. Each of us are passionate about creating, contributing and inspiring healthy and productive workplaces.
One of the reasons I believe we’ve been successful is my team members align to the values that we uphold. So we’re not just talking about the walk, we’re walking the walk. This doesn’t mean we always get it right, but it’s what we strive for. Modelling healthy behaviors, servant leadership and continuous learning are some of the ways we do that. I’m continuously learning and evolving my skill set and knowledge.
In this fast paced world, full of information it’s so important to keep learning! This year, I’ve been receiving executive coaching which has been really incredible. Something we offer here at Summit as well and I’ve experienced firsthand, its benefits. I’ve taken a number of University courses and received my Diploma in Business.
I believe that you’re never “done” learning and now that my boys are older, one of my main goals is to add additional education to my portfolio of experience. I’ve got some big plans lined up for this year and I can’t wait to hit the books to better serve my clients. I want to take this time to thank you personally for taking the time to learn more about Summit and for trusting us with your organization. It is our honour to work with you and we look forward to facilitating your transformation.
